Official: Jail slaying could not have been prevented

A man in jail, awaiting trial, may have been murdered because (according to the investigative report prepared by the sheriff's office) he refused to beat up another inmate...

"After reviewing this incident, we are confident this homicide could not have been prevented," said the county's chief of detention..."It was never in full view of the officer."Sheriff's officials acknowledged that the measures in place at the jail aren't sufficient to prevent inmates from killing each other...
