How CBS Got Digital Religion

Exhibit A of CBS' newfound enthusiasm for the Web is of course the $1.8 billion purchase of CNET Networks, which closed in June...

(When I've had discussions with management of media companies about strengthening their online services and content, they gave blank stares due to their "tunnel vision". Some never hear and see the train until they get run over...)

online music services

Spent most of the day with Pandora...

I remember that the quality of the Yahoo Music stream had been, more than once, less than desirable so I didn't bother to try them...

AOL music wasn't simple enough in Firefox and IE: I don't want to allow it to install..ANYTHING!

MSN Music: not enough variety. (I'm VERY eclectic.)

I can't think of any others to try, and I don't feel like searching...but I'm open to suggestion.

CBS acquired Last.fm

We are being told that Last.fm will continue to be run independently by its founders. (Sure...we'll see...)
