(While preparing my taxes today...)

I found my copy of TaxCut Premium Federal & State (I received for free) has "internet connection required" on the CD. I hope this is made clear to purchasers BEFORE it is purchased...

I used TurboTax Federal & State. To my surprise, I was not allowed to file online for free. Again, I'm very happy I received it for free.

Based on my experiences, if there are additional charges for filing online, I expect I will NEVER purchase tax preparation software.
